This is one person's idea what the picture from The Three Billy Goats Gruff looks like.

Do you see the post that the troll is leaning on? Posts that are used to hold up bridges are called pillars. Pillars can come in different shapes. Most pillars are round.

Why are most pillars round?

If you had a pillar that was in the shape of a triangle, square and a circle, which one would support the most weight?

When we find something we don't understand, we ask questions. By finding the answers to the questions we learn more. In this project, we're asking questions that we need your help answering. By finding the answers to the above questions, we will learn more about why architects design buildings and bridges the way theydo. Architects are people make the plans for building things.

Before we can answer these questions, we need to find out what we already know .
